This orientation is designed to acquaint you the members of Marvelous Light Christian Ministries with the vision, mission and procedures that help to govern our church. We are serving a God that does all things decent and in order, likewise; we must also be a church family that handles the business of the Lord’s house in an orderly and decent manner. This orientation will be very beneficial to the current membership as well as to those who the Lord will send to be a part of us in the future. Every member should have access to and knowledge of the vision and procedures that operate their church. The more information that is shared and understood by all – the better off we will be.
Pastor “K” and I pray that through the study and application of this orientation that you will be blessed, informed and strengthened by the power of the Holy Spirit. And that you will be equipped with the knowledge of The Word of God to live a prosperous and victorious life in Christ. The Word of God is our ultimate guide in all matters of spiritual service and conduct. This orientation simply allows us to walk and work together in love and understanding of one another and the contributions we make to this ministry. “The Light” New Member Orientation is designed to acquaint the members of Marvelous Light Christian Ministries with the vision, mission and procedures that help to govern our church. Over the next six (6) weeks you will learn about the Church, it’s structure, salvation, baptism, the Bible, discipleship, stewardship and Marvelous Light, Incorporated. Our instructors for this course are dedicated members who have been called to teach. They each have a wealth of knowledge and love the Lord and “The Light”.
Each New Member will be supplied with a New Member’s Manual. This manual will be your text book to use for your studies through out this course and keep at the conclusion of the six weeks. In addition to the lessons, this manual houses a Word of Welcome from our Pastors and an in-depth bio of Pastor James and Pastor Kelly Chandler, as well as descriptions of many of the ministries offered here at the Light, giving you an opportunity to see which ministry or ministries you want to join first.
Mrs. Denise Little has served in several positions at “The Light”, but she believes her true place is that of a teacher. Mrs. Little knows that finding your place in the body of Christ is very important and the journey is a process. Mrs. Little believes each step brings us closer to a better understanding and maturity in Christ. The bible says, “All things work together for the good of those who love the Lord.” Mrs. Little knows that every step she has made has brought her to this juncture. One of her favorite quotes by Jim Rohn says, “If someone is going down the wrong road, he doesn’t need motivation to speed him up. What he needs is education to turn him around.” Mrs. Little believes that this is where the Word of God comes into play, for it is the Word after all that can and will direct our paths. “I am just a vessel willing to be use in the learning process.”
Elder Louise Dobbs is a native of Georgia. She has been a dedicated, determined & dependable member of The Light from its inception. Her mission is to spread God’s word through teaching, preaching, singing and serving in the kingdom. Only by God’s grace and favor is she able to share her gifts and talents. Elder Dobbs has a sincere passion for training up our children in the way that they should go; believing God’s word: “when he is old, he will not depart from it”. She has served in various ministries as Clergy, Gospel Choir, Praise Team, Finance Ministry, Media, Intercessory Ministry, WISE – Women’s Ministry, and Video Editor. She is a Certified Coding Specialist in the healthcare field. as well as a devoted wife, loving mother and very proud grandmother. Her favorite saying: LORD USE ME!
Elder Cloretta Chandler is a powerful prognosticator of the gospel. She has been accurately described as “A Quite Storm” whose delivery and presentation of the word draws you in and explodes with wisdom and revelation. As a member of MLCM Elder Cloretta serves as an Associate Minister, an Intercessor, a Gospel Choir member and Teacher. Elder Cloretta has been commissioned by God in Christ Jesus to operate as a catalyst in the life of the believer in order to help them reach their full potential as Kingdom Citizens. “My desire is to see all believers “Live Out Loud!” the Kingdom inheritance we have been given through the Word of God.” To fulfill this commission Elder Cloretta has founded Mentoring in the Word! an online Training & Development Center, A division of Cloretta Chandler Ministries, LLC. www.clorettachandler.com.
